Irritation

So many choices
The selection of test to evaluate irritation is the most diverse category of biocompatibility assessments.  There is topical skin model for surface contacting devices.  There is the intracutaneous which should be considered for any externally communicating devices or implants.  And finally some tissue specific irritation studies.
